Located in the village of Blauzac in western Provence, this 16th-century stone house was
probably a summer residence of the neighboring bishop of Uzès. It is particularly spacious for a village house and features a large landscaped garden with cypress, olive, palm and pine trees, lawn, flowers and shrubs, a covered terrace with outdoor dining furniture and mosaic tiled swimming pool. From the garden, there are panoramic views on the valley.
The entire house is tastefully furnished with antique pieces and art from the owner’s private collection. The ground floor has high beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, arched stone entryways and white tile floors. The large sitting room has a period loveseat and several easy chairs grouped around an antique glass coffee table in front of the fireplace. The room is accented by an antique buffet and armoire. Beyond is the well-equipped kitchen with colorful tile counters and a tile breakfast table. A stone archway leads to the dining room with antique wood table and chairs and additional antique chests. Also on this level are a study and laundry room. Stairs from the living room rise to a landing with a billiard table. From here a corridor leads to 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A stylish house in a lovely Provençal setting and within walking distance to village shops. Note: this house adjoins the owners' property, and though they are not often there, the driveway is shared. However, the house, pool and garden are completely private for our clients’ use. |
| "We loved our home in Blauzac. Our host was charming and we felt we were ‘borrowing’ a friend’s delightful house rather than arriving at an impersonal rental. I would have stayed forever...." |
