The Marais is one of the most celebrated districts of Paris. Its sights include the historic Place des Vosges, the Musée Beaubourg as well as the Musée Picasso and the Musée Carnavalet, among the city’s most unique and interesting small museums. Out your door are bustling neighborhoods on the rue Rambuteau and the rue des Francs Bourgeois - with their markets, stylish boutiques, cafés and restaurants.
Located in a late 19th-century building, this one-bedroom apartment is quite unique. Set on the 5th floor with elevator access, it features a charming balcony with an array of flowering plants and a wonderful view over the city’s rooftops. The view also includes the lovely courtyard of the neighboring Hôtel de St-Aignan, formerly a noble mansion and home since 1998 to the impressive Jewish Museum of History and Art. Inside the apartment, wood floors, original molding, pastel walls, large windows and French doors accent an eclectic combination of antique and contemporary furnishings. A corridor leads to the dining room with round wood table and chairs for 4 people. Adjacent is the well-designed and equipped galley kitchen with ceramic tile floor, butcher-block counters and cream-colored cabinets. A door from the dining room leads to the sitting room with red sofa and tan loveseat grouped around an oval coffee table. Both the living and dining rooms are light and bright with French doors opening to the flowered balcony and to the city views. Completing the apartment are a bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The bedroom is at the head of the entry corridor and also overlooks the balcony and city views. It is nicely decorated with pretty bedcover and curtains. Further down the corridor is a small bathroom with tiled shower and toilet. The second bathroom is off the dining room and includes a clawfoot tub with shower and sink. A very comfortable apartment in a truly unique city setting. |
