The neighborhood between the historic St-Sulpice and St-Germain churches is among the most stylish on the Left Bank. The shops, cafés, restaurants and markets of both the St-Germain-des-Prés and St-Sulpice areas are steps away. Also within easy walking distance are the Luxembourg Gardens and banks of the Seine.
The rue Princesse is a narrow street off the rue du Four behind St-Sulpice. Our apartment is in a late 18th-century building on the 2nd floor (see note below) with stair access. It has been fully renovated and features high wood-beamed ceilings, tall windows, original molding, parquet floors and a combination of attractive contemporary furniture and antique pieces. Overlooking a pleasant interior courtyard, it is quiet by Paris standards. There are air conditioning units in the main room and the bedroom. Entrance is into the open-plan living-dining room. The sitting area includes a comfortable sofa and easy chairs. Behind is the dining area with marble-topped wrought iron table and chairs for 4 people and the kitchen, compact and well-equipped. The room is accented by lovely wall tapestries and a large framed mirror. A door from the living room leads to the bedroom with king bed and antique armoire. The full bathroom with shower and double sinks is between the bedroom and the living room. A pretty apartment in a sought-after Left Bank location. |
