Rue Guénégaud is a narrow street near the quais of the Seine in the heart of St-Germain. From here, all the sights and bustling neighborhoods of the Latin Quarter, the Ile de la Cité and Ile St-Louis are within short walking distance. Notre Dame and St-Germain-des-Prés are steps away as well as the lively cafés, restaurants and open air markets on the rue de Buci and the rue de Seine. It doesn't get much better than this!
Located in a 19th-century building, the apartment is on the third floor (see note below) with stair access. A corner apartment, it is light and bright with large windows and overlooks the narrow neighborhool streets. It has been completely renovated with parquet floors, white walls, all new appliances and fixtures and decorated with casual contemporary furnishings. Entrance is into the main room with living and dining areas as well as an efficient galley kitchen. Comfortable seating includes a tan upholstered sofa and two blue and white striped armchairs grouped around a round coffee table. There is a round glass-topped dining table with upholstered chairs for 4 people. A bar with wood-topped counter separates the kitchen with deep blue lacquer cabinets, a two-burner cooktop, small refrigerator, microwave-convection oven and dishwasher. Off the main room is the bathroom with pretty white tile and colorful frieze. Past the kitchen another door leads to the bedroom overlooking a quiet courtyard. It is nicely decorated with a pretty blue bedcover, curtains, an antique gray chest and good closet space. A very comfortable and well-designed apartment in a terrific Left Bank neighborhood. |
