Located on the edge of a lively village, this modern villa was designed and built in the regional style with bright ocher facade, white shutters and tile roof. The enclosed grounds include a lovely landscaped garden with mosaic-tiled swimming pool, lawn, trees, oleander, roses and a variety of flowering shrubs and plants. Adjacent to the front of the house with views on the garden and pool is a large terrace with dining table, and there is another smaller terrace with built-in barbecue on the side.
Inside, the house is open and airy and features large windows, stone and terra cotta tile floors, colorful walls and casual contemporary furnishings. Entry is from the front terrace into the spacious open-plan living-dining room. In the sitting area is a blue leather sectional sofa grouped around a wood coffee table. Behind is a small dining area with round wood table and antique painted chests. Opposite, overlooking the garden is a larger dining room with a rectangular antique wood table and chairs. The dining area, with terra cotta tile floor, has sliding-glass picture windows leading to the outdoor dining terrace, garden and pool. Off the living-dining room is the pretty country kitchen. Fully-equipped, it has yellow tile counters, yellow and blue cabinets and a round breakfast table. There are a total of 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms down a corridor to the left of the living room. The bedrooms are all attractively decorated with colorful walls, pretty bedcovers, rugs and chests. The master suite has a queen bed, an ensuite bathroom and French doors to a side terrace. Also along the corridor are four more bedrooms, a large bathroom with double sinks, tub and toilet, and near the entry additional toilet facilities. At the end of the bedroom corridor is a new wing of the house. On the main level is a den with small sitting area and television. Off the den is a bathroom with lovely mosaic tilework, shower and sauna. Stairs from the den go up to the 6th bedroom with double bed, ocher walls and French doors to a private terrace. An easy-living home with plenty of room for large families and groups of friends. Great access to Montpellier, the Mediterranean and the sights of Languedoc. |
