The Marais is one of the most celebrated districts of Paris. Within a five-minute walk is the historic Place des Vosges, not to mention the Musée Picasso and the Musée Carnavalet, among the city's most unique and interesting small museums. Out your door are the shops of the rue des Francs-Bourgeois. And the bustling neighborhood on the rue St-Antoine - with its markets, specialty shops, cafés and restaurants - is within easy walking distance.
Located in a 17th-century building, this one-bedroom apartment is spacious by Paris standards and looks out on a quiet street and courtyard. It was totally renovated by a well-known architect and the owners spared no expense in its design and furnishings. It features high ceilings, oak floors, light walls, large double-paned double windows and stylish contemporary decor and works of art. For your complete convenience, there are a computer and high-speed internet access at your fingertips. The main room is open-plan and includes a sitting area, kitchen and dining area. In the sitting area, a Noguchi coffee table is flanked by two upholstered club chairs and a sleek sofa. The bottom part of the sofa pulls out and creates a double bed. The flat-screen television has cable service and a "code free" DVD player that plays all region DVDs. There's also a selection of movies that are based in and around Paris. The fiber-optic chandelier provides diffused low lighting. To the side of the living area is a small desk with an Eames chair and lamp. On the desk are a fax-printer and an Apple iBook so you can check on Paris activities and your email. Behind is the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen cabinets are made of wenge wood, with built-in appliances including an oven, microwave, ceramic stove top, refrigerator, washer-dryer and dishwasher. The adjacent dining area features a granite table and designer maple dining chairs for 4 people. Completing the apartment are a bedroom with queen-sized bed and a bathroom. A hand-crafted cast iron bed brings a touch of baroque styling to the bedroom. The bathroom includes both a shower and bathtub. The over-sized shower has a combination of blue granite and small mosaic tiles. The custom designed vanity and mirror separates the walk-in shower on the left and the bathtub on the right. There are separate toilet facilities with a sink. An attractive and stylish home with every convenience in the heart of Paris. |
