The Marais is one of the most lively and historic areas of Paris. In its heart is the Place des Vosges, the city's oldest arcaded square. Here your neighbors are some of the city's unique small museums, such as the Musée Carnvalet tracing the history of Paris, the Musée Picasso and the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers. Close by is a lively shopping district along the rue de Bretagne with an array of tantalizing food shops, boutiques, cafés and restaurants including one of the city's oldest covered markets.
This two bedroom apartment has undergone a complete renovation, It is set in an 18th-century building on the 2nd floor (see note below) with stair access. The apartment features hardwood floors, tall windows and high ceilings. Overlooking an interior courtyard, it is very quiet by Paris standards. The décor includes casual contemporary furnishings, and the apartment is equipped with all modern conveniences such as cable television and high speed internet access. The entry opens to the main living room with sitting and dining areas as well as a kitchen. In the sitting area are a black leather sofa and two white easy chairs grouped by a black wood coffee table. Adjacent is a dining table and chairs for 4 people. Asian-style carpets are colorful accents. The compact galley kitchen is open to the main room. It includes a small refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, small appliances (coffee maker, toaster) and cupboards with pots, pans and dishes for up to 6 people. Completing the apartment are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom, all accessed independently. The queen bedroom is off the living area, and the twin bedroom is off the kitchen.
