Just around the corner from the Panthéon and winding its way down to the boulevard St-Germain, rue de la Montagne Ste-Geneviève is a charming cobblestone street in the Latin Quarter full of lively shops, cafés and restaurants. At the bottom of the hill is the place Maubert with its open-air market three days a week and an array of wonderful food shops. Also within short walks are the Luxembourg Gardens, the renowned Cluny Museum, the Arènes de Lutece and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Located in a 17th-century building, this one-bedroom apartment is on the 2nd and top floor with stair access. It has been wonderfully renovated, distinctively designed and beautifully decorated. Traditional architectural features include 400-year-old beamed ceilings and wood floors. Richly-colored fabrics, fine antiques and all conveniences combine to make this an inviting and welcoming home.

Off the entry hall to the left is the open-plan living room with kitchen and dining area. The room is light and airy with its high wood beams, sky light and large window. The sitting area features a warm-red sofa and period arm chairs grouped near the window. To one side is a lovely antique wood buffet and on the other dark wood etageres. Occasional tables and antique lighting, including a striking Fortuny lamp, accent this appealing room. Behind the sitting area is the fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with antique wood table for 4 people. The kitchen is accented with Spanish tiles and has a window overlooking a courtyard.

To the right of the entry is the bedroom with wood beamed ceiling and queen bed. It is well appointed with pretty curtains and bed cover accented by an antique desk, chest and tables. The apartment has 2 bathrooms with quality ceramic tile and fixtures. One with tub and shower attachment is ensuite with the bedroom. The other is off the main room and has a stall shower. There is also a sleeping loft with queen bed overlooking the main room. It is accessed by a stairway from the entry.

An apartment of exceptional taste and charm in an appealing Parisian neighborhood.
