St-Germain-des-Prés is among Paris' most historic and stylish neighborhoods. The celebrated church for which the area is named is just a block away. The area is full of shops, restaurants and cafés frequented in the 1950s and 60s by the city's intellectual elite. A short walk away are the lively markets of the rue de Seine and rue de Buci, a delight for the eye and the palate And the banks of the Seine, the Luxembourg Gardens and other renowned Left-Bank sights are all within easy walking distance.
Located in a late 19th-century building, our apartment is spacious by Paris standards with 1,100 sq. ft. of living space. It is on the 4th floor with elevator access. The building and apartment have been beautifully renovated retaining their classic architectural features. The apartment is light and bright with large windows, wood parquet floors, original molding and decorative fireplaces. The decor features fine furnishings including richly colored fabrics, antique pieces and oriental carpets. And you'll find all modern conveniences, including high speed internet access and in warmer months, air conditioning in the bedrooms. Off the entry hall is the large living room overlooking the rue du Four. Three brightly-upholstered sofas are grouped around a coffee table in front of the decorative fireplace. Occasional tables and lamps as well as art pieces accent this appealing room. Adjacent is the open-plan kitchen-dining room. The kitchen is fully-equipped and features dark wood and glass cabinets, a professional-level gas stove and a full-range of appliances. A dark wood counter separates the kitchen from the dining area where there is another decorative fireplace and a gracious wood table and chairs for 6 people. The apartment has a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Entry to two of the bedrooms is from the living room. One overlooks the street and another overlooks an interior courtyard with flowers and plants. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with shower and double sinks. Separate toilet facilities are located on the entry hall. A corridor off the entry leads to a third bedroom and adjacent full bathroom also overlooking the courtyard. The bedrooms are all very attractively decorated with lovely bed covers and curtains as well as antique tables, armoires and colorful rugs. An appealing and stylish Parisian home in the heart of one of the citys most fashionable neighborhoods. |
