Conveniently located northwest of Aix-en-Provence, the Mas du Vignoble is a 19th-century mas that has been wonderfully restored and renovated. Set in spacious grounds in the countryside close to several lively villages, it looks out on a lovely vineyard of the Côteaux d’Aix appellation. The property is surrounded by tall trees including green oaks, pines and cypress. Adjacent to the house is a beautifully landscaped garden with a pretty lawn, beds with lavender, rosemary, roses and other flowering plants and shrubs. To the side of the house is a large pool with stone terrace. Running along the entire front of the house are both open and arbored terraces with tile-topped wrought iron dining tables, the perfect place for outdoor lounging, dining and enjoying vineyard views.

With 6,000 square feet of living space on three levels, the house is a marvelous setting for large groups of family and friends. No expense has been spared in its renovation which features the highest quality materials, craftsmanship, appliances, fixtures and furnishings. Traditional Provençal accents, including exposed stone archways, natural stone, tile and terra cotta floors and colorful tilework highlight an inviting combination of contemporary and antique decor.

The ground level has been designed with a predominantly open-plan layout, making it spacious and appealing with plenty of room for socializing. To the left of the entry hall is the living room with fireplace. There are several seating groups with large colorful sofas, armchairs, wicker easy chairs, occasional tables and antique pieces. Adjacent is an informal library with comfortable armchairs, a restful area for reading, listening to music and relaxing.

Stone arches open to a superb country kitchen, an oasis for serious cooks. It features Italian marble counters and a work island, oak cabinets, professional level appliances, butcher block cutting areas and all conveniences. To one side is a cozy breakfast area. On the other side, a stone arch opens to the spacious dining room with a beautiful rectangular wood table with Provençal tile inset. Yellow walls and colorful carpets accent this very appealing room. French doors complemented by colorful curtains open from all the ground floor rooms to the garden and arbored dining terraces terraces. It’s the perfect setting for outdoor meals prepared with ingredients fresh from the market.

Also on the main level are two separate toilet facilities. Stairs to the second and third levels lead to the bedrooms and bathrooms. On the second floor are a total of 6 bedrooms, including a large master suite and a playroom with bunk beds appropriate for children. On this level are 3 full bathrooms and separate toilet facilities.

The third floor features 3 more bedrooms and 2 full baths. Two of the bedrooms here form a suite sharing one of the baths. The bedrooms all enjoy lovely vineyard views. They are warmly decorated with pretty curtains, bedspreads or comforters and rugs as well as antique chests, armoires and tables. The bathrooms have artful travertine marble tilework and quality fixtures including showers or tubs with shower attachments, sinks and toilets.

A variety of excursions, tours and services, sure to enhance your stay, can be arranged at an additional charge. These include guided hikes, painting classes, wine tasting, Provençal cooking classes and chef-prepared meals.

A quality home with tremendous Provençal character with easy access to day trips throughout the region.

"Our stay was fantastic! The accomodations were beautiful. Our chef-prepared meal was one of the best we ate in our sixteen days in France. If we ever go to France with a big group again, we will definitely stay in this house."
