Located in the Luberon countryside, this old stone house has its origins in the 19th-century. Nearby are villages and towns including Roussillon, St-Saturnin-les-Apt and the bustling market town of Apt.

The spacious grounds include a lovely swimming pool and a natural garden with lawn and landscaped beds. Adjacent to the house is a stone terrace with wrought-iron dining furniture. And accessed by an exterior staircase is a large covered dining terrace with a rectangular wrought iron table and chairs. From the terraces, pool and most rooms of the house, you will enjoy stunning views over fields and vineyards up to the Luberon and Vaucluse mountains. It's the perfect combination of country charm with easy access to scenic villages with all shops and services.

Inside and out, the house has been renovated, designed and decorated with no expense spared. The honey-colored stone façade has been beautifully reconstructed. Inside, traditional architectural features range from wood beamed ceilings to stone fireplaces and travertine floors. All appliances and fixtures are of the highest quality. Muted tones with Provençal motifs combine with stylish modern and warm antique furnishings along with many original works of art. Its casual elegance is a pleasure to experience.

To the left of the entry way is a spacious living-dining room with cathedral ceiling and painted wood beams. The room is open and airy with a staircase up to a mezzanine with library and handsome wrought-iron railing. An upholstered sofa and two easy chairs are grouped by an antique wood table by the stone fireplace. Adjacent is a wood farm table and dining chairs. Fine antique pieces, tables and lamps are warm accents to this gracious and appealing room. Two sets of arched French doors open to the terraces and grounds.

A doorway from the dining area leads to the kitchen, designed by the owners for the best of cooks. You'll enjoy plenty of preparation space including a spacious marble-topped center island. Top-of-the-line appliances include a Viking professional level stove and an American-style refrigerator-freezer. And there is an array of quality kitchen equipment, pots and pans, knives etc. French doors lead to the terraces here as well.

There are a total of 4 bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom. All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with antique chests and armoires, side tables and lamps, curtains, fine bedcovers and lovely linens. The bathrooms feature quality fixtures and tilework, both ceramic and travertine.

Two of the suites are on the ground level: a queen suite is accessed off the kitchen and another with twin beds convertible to king is accessed by an exterior door from the terrace. Stairs from the kitchen lead to another queen bedded suite with doors to the upstairs dining terrace. The main staircase goes up to the master suite with queen bed. This bedroom has a full bathroom with tub and shower attachment. Also on this level down the hall is a study with upholstered sofa and desk. Opposite the study is a bathroom with large shower and toilet facilities adjacent on the hall.

A Provençal pearl, first class in every way!

"This property is outstanding. The caretaker was very helpful. We loved the spotless, comfortable bedrooms, the lovely furnishings and terrific kitchen. The American style appliances were great. We'd love another visit."
