This sweet cottage offers the best of both worlds! It is located a pleasant walk from the center of St-Rémy-de-Provence. A historic town with extensive Roman ruins, St-Rémy is among the region’s most picturesque and lively spots, with plane-tree bordered avenues, an array of shops, restaurants, cafés and a weekly open-air market not to be missed.
Set in a lovely garden, the property also affords complete privacy. The garden, enclosed by hedges, is in front of the house and features a large swimming pool and a stone tile terrace. Surrounding the pool are landscaped beds with grass, oleander, roses, lavender and yucca as well as olive, pine and cypress trees. Inside, the house has been completely renovated and well decorated. Built on a single story, it is light and bright and features terra cotta tile floors, white walls, and a combination of stylish contemporary and antique furnishings. Entry is into the open-plan living-dining room. To the left is the sitting area with large sectional sofa grouped around a glass-topped wrought-iron coffee table near the fireplace. To the right is an antique wood dining table with bench seating on both sides. Occasional tables and lamps accent this comfortable room. Off the living area is the kitchen with butcher-block counters and white cabinets and equipped with all appliances. Adjacent is a breakfast area with small drop-leaf table and two antique wood chests. French doors open to the terrace and pool. There are a total of 3 bedrooms, each air conditioned, and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom with ensuite bath is off the dining area and has French doors opening to the garden. A short corridor from the living room leads to two more bedrooms and another bathroom with separate toilet facilities. All of the bedrooms have double beds and are decorated with lovely quilts, wood tables and chests. The bathrooms sport white ceramic tile work and quality fixtures. A great home base for enjoying life in a Provençal town and exploring all the best of the region. |
