Located in a charming hamlet, this old stone property has its origins in the 17th-century. Nearby are the scenic perched villages of Gordes and Roussillon as well as the bustling market town of Apt. Isle sur la Sorgue, celebrated for its antique dealers and Sunday open-air market, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, St-Rémy and all the renowned sights of Provence are within easy driving distance.

Recently featured in Campagne Decoration, one of France's premier home decor magazines, the property features spacious and beautifully landscaped grounds. Adjacent to the house are several terraces, both shaded and sunny. Just across the lane is a walled, private garden with expansive lawns, large swimming pool and a graveled terrace with café table and chairs. At the far end of the garden and pool are a summer kitchen and another outdoor dining area. Whether you're relaxing by the pool or enjoying leisurely al fresco meals, from the garden you'll take full advantage of magnificent Luberon country views.

Inside, the old sheep bergerie has been renovated and decorated with tremendous Provençal style and flair. Traditional architectural features include vaulted and wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and terra cotta and stone floors. Thick stone walls are excellent insulators keeping the house very cool in the summer and toasty in the winter. Fine country antique furnishings and decorative pieces complement all modern appliances and conveniences.

Entry is into the open-plan kitchen and dining room with vaulted ceiling and stone arches. To the left is the kitchen with a gray-antique wood table serving as a center island. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances including a professional-level gas range and oven. At the opposite end is the dining room with antique chest, lamps and antique wood table extending to seat 8-10 people. An archway leads to the living room with heavy wood beamed ceilings and ornamental fireplace. Seating includes a cane-woven loveseat with comfortable cushions, several armchairs and an upholstered bench grouped around a small wood table near the fireplace. Occasional tables, lamps and lovely carpets accent this gracious room.

An open stone staircase from the living room leads to a large landing decorated with antique tables and whimsical objets d'art. To one side is a den with desk and flat-screen television. Floor cushions serve as casual seating.

There are a total of 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with antique tables, chests, lamps, curtains, fine bedcovers and lovely linens. The bathrooms feature quality fixtures and tiled showers. Three of the bedrooms - one with queen, one with two doubles and another with double - are upstairs and accessed from the landing. Also accessed from the landing is a large bathroom with clawfoot tub, separate tiled shower, sink and toilet facilities. On the ground floor is another bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet facilities. Access to this room is from an exterior door. There are additional toilet facilities off the kitchen.

A property steeped in Provençal tradition in a picturesque and highly central location.

Note: due to the open stone staircase, this property is not advised for children under 5 years old.
