Set in the heart of Burgundy's famed Côte d'Or wine-growing region, this 17th-century house is the perfect home base for exploring this celebrated area. In Pommard, recognized the world over as one of Burgundy's premier wine villages, you can walk out the door to sample the wines of local vintners. It's a short drive to the historic and lively city of Beaune, the center of the Burgundy wine industry. The picturesque countryside and renowned wine villages of Nuits St-Georges, Meursault, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet - to name just a few - are all short drives as well.
The former wayside inn has been beautifully renovated and is situated around an enclosed gravel courtyard with views to the Château de Pommard. There are several accommodations including this stone cottage, which comprises one wing with entrance directly from the courtyard. Inside the cottage, you'll find traditional architectural design such as stone floors, exposed stone walls and wood beamed ceilings. The decor features stylish contemporary furnishings, first-class appliances and fixtures and all conveniences including high-speed internet access. To the right of the entry hall is the open-plan living dining room, light and bright with white walls, a high ceiling, and windows opening to the courtyard. In the sitting area are two upholstered sofas grouped around a glass-topped coffee table. Adjacent is the dining area with polished wood table and chairs for 6 people. A wood chest, along with occasional tables, lamps and sconces are handsome accents. To the left of the entry is the well-equipped kitchen with pretty wood cabinets, gray ceramic tile backsplash, white counters and a small round breakfast table. The kitchen also overlooks the courtyard. Stairs from the entry lead upstairs to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All of the bedrooms are decorated with lovely bedcovers, curtains and high-quality bed linens. The bathrooms have beautiful ceramic-tiled showers and fine fixtures. On the second level are two bedrooms with queen beds. One is a suite with full bathroom with separate shower and tub, double sinks and toilet facilities. There is another queen bedroom with views on the Château de Pommard. Adjacent on the hall is another bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. On the third floor are a small bedroom with single bed and a mezzanine with baby crib. Additional toilet facilities are downstairs on the entry hall.
