This stone cottage with sea-green shutters is among the most unique in our portfolio. Its setting, overlooking the ruins of a Roman stone quarry, is truly exceptional. Indeed, the facade features sculpted Roman artifacts found on the grounds of the property and incorporated into the stonework. And the property is located just a short drive from the center of St-Rémy-de-Provence. A historic town with extensive Roman ruins, St-Rémy is among the region's most picturesque and lively spots, with an array of shops, restaurants, cafés and a weekly open-air market not to be missed.
The spacious grounds include Mediterranean pine woods and the vestiges of the old Roman quarry, which are yours to explore. Adjacent to the house are a graveled terrace and landscaped beds with olive and cypress trees and a variety of flowering plants and shrubs. Inside, the cottage has been beautifully restored featuring wood beamed ceilings, stone floors and pastel walls. The decor combines handsome contemporary furnishings and richly-colored fabrics with warm antique pieces. Entry is into the living room with high beamed ceilings and old stone fireplace. A sand-colored upholstered sofa and two rattan easy chairs are grouped around a small wood coffee table. On the opposite wall flanking the fireplace are built-in seating with colorful cushions. The room is light, bright and airy. To the left, a graceful archway leads to the dining room with round antique table and chairs for 4 people. From here, another archway with glass doors opens to the fully-equipped kitchen with cream tile counters, light wood cabinets and all appliances. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is down a short corridor off the entry and has twin beds. Adjacent is the full bathroom with lovely stone tilework. Several stairs from the living area lead to the second bedroom, also with twin beds. Near this bedroom are additional toilet facilities. A wonderful cottage in a truly unique setting near a celebrated Provençal town. |
| "Wonderful visit to St-Rémy. We are ready to go back again soon. Spectacular grounds, very nice house. We could not ask for anything more. And St-Rémy is the perfect location." |

| "Perfect - we LOVED the property and the house. So close to St-Rémy (we loved to walk it), Les Baux and the ruins at Glanum. And the caretakers were very helpful and gracious hosts." |
