The medieval village of Limeuil is classified as one of France's Plus Beaux Villages. The village is set at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, a scenic spot for river swimming or enjoying an afternoon aperitif at the riverside café.
Located within walking distance of Limeuil is this traditional vine-covered stone house with red tile roof. The spacious grounds include a swimming pool, natural garden with tall trees, shrubs and grass. Adjacent to the house is a stone terrace shaded by an enormous old oak tree. It's the perfect spot for leisurely outdoor meals or a quiet afternoon with a book. Inside, the 19th-century house has been well renovated and features ceramic tile and wood floors, beamed ceilings, classic furnishings and all appliances and conveniences. Entry is into the French country kitchen with polished wood breakfast table, pale green cabinets, faux wood counters and pretty green and white ceramic tile accents. From here a door leads to the dining room with lovely rectangular antique wood table and colorful upholstered chairs. Beyond the dining room is a comfortable living room. Seating includes a leather sofa with upholstered cushions and armchairs grouped around a wood coffee table by the old stone fireplace. Built-in bookshelves, occasional tables, lamps and Asian carpets are warm accents with French doors opening to the terrace and grounds. Also on this level is a summer conservatory with additional seating overlooking the garden.Stairs from the living room lead to 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Off the second floor landing are a bedroom with twin beds and another with a single bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. A corridor from the landing leads to a spacious bedroom with queen bed and to a smaller bedroom with single bed. These two bedrooms are interconnected with access to the single bedroom through the queen-bedded room. They share a bathroom with tub and shower attachment. The bedrooms are decorated with pretty bedcovers, antique chests, table and armoires, and the bathrooms feature colorful ceramic tile work. Additional toilet facilities are located on the entry level. A country house with great Perigourdine atmosphere near a charming riverside village. |
