Have you dreamed of living in your own historic chateau? Well dream no more! This chateau is steeped in history - from its origins in the 16th-century to its role as headquarters for the local Resistance movement in World War II. It also boasts a unique location, right in the heart of the village of Siorac, where you can walk to the bakery, café, newsstand, supermarket and two restaurants. And an array of other charming towns and villages, as well as all the sights of the Dordogne, are within easy driving distance.

The chateau is set in enclosed grounds surrounded by tall trees. Beautifully landscaped, the garden includes a pretty swimming pool and terrace, lawn, shrubs and large graveled courtyard with outdoor lounging and dining furniture.

Inside, the old chateau has been well renovated and retains classic architectural features including vaulted and beamed ceilings, marble fireplaces, graceful staircases, tall windows and marble and wood parquet floors. Full modern amenities combine with antique and contemporary furnishings.

Built on four levels, the chateau has two entries off the courtyard: one into a summer salon with vaulted ceiling on the ground level and another up a flight of stone stairs to a door on the second level.

From the entry and summer salon, a lovely staircase leads to the main living level on the second floor. A door opens to a spacious double salon with several sitting areas and large windows overlooking the courtyard and pool. To one side is a seating group with large upholstered sofa and several contemporary armchairs. Dividing the room is a period-style chaise longue and behind, other armchairs grouped by the old marble fireplace. Antique mirrors, artwork, occasional tables and lamps accent this open and airy room with marble floors.

From the living area a door opens to a spacious kitchen and dining room with wood-beamed ceiling and marble floors. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a pantry with dishwasher, large refrigerator, washer and dryer. Adjacent in the dining area are a pretty polished wood table with upholstered dining chairs, lovely chandelier and massive wood armoire. The kitchen overlooks the courtyard and garden as well. Also on this level is a full bathroom.

Stairs lead to the third and fourth floors where there are 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. On the third floor, all of the bedrooms are suites with full bathrooms and toilets. Additional separate toilet facilities are also located on this floor. There are two more bedrooms on the top floor, one with twins and another with three single beds. These two rooms share a large bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet. All of the bedrooms are nicely decorated with pretty bedcovers and curtains framing tall windows. The bathrooms have been updated with quality fixtures, porcelain and tile work.

A property with exceptional historic charm and character in the heart of a Perigourdine village.
