This charming village house, built with honey-colored stone, is located in the center of Belvès, a medieval bastide town. Belvès is perched above the Nauze valley and has a full range of shops, cafés and restaurants, all just steps away. The Place des Armes, in the center of town and dating from the 15th century, is the site of the weekly open-air market.
Entry to the property is through a wrought-iron gate into the enclosed stone-tile courtyard. Adjacent is a sweet garden with lawn, flowers and outdoor furniture for relaxing and al fresco dining. The house is built on two levels. Inside, it has been well renovated and features wood floors, light walls, attractive contemporary furnishings and all modern conveniences. Off the entry hall is a pretty kitchen with lovely blue and white tile walls and white tile floor. It is fully-equipped and has a breakfast table. Windows overlook the garden. Adjacent is the sitting-dining room with open fireplace. There is a comfortable seating group including an upholstered sofa and wicker easy chairs. In the dining area is a rectangular wood table and chairs for 4 people. French doors open to a small balcony overlooking the street. Also on this level are separate toilet facilities. Stairs lead up to two bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and fireplace and overlooks the street. The other has twin beds and overlooks the garden. Both are attractively decorated in pastel tones with pretty bedspreads and curtains. The full bathroom has white tilework and wood shelves. A delightful house in which to enjoy the best of village life. |
