This sweet stone cottage is located in the upper part of the medieval village of Limeuil, classified as one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages. The village is set at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, a scenic spot for river swimming or enjoying an afternoon aperitif at the riverside café.

Set on three levels, the cottage sports a stone facade, honey-colored shutters and a front terrace with outdoor dining furniture. From here, there are lovely country views. Inside, it has been well renovated and features heavy wood beamed ceilings, wood floors and light walls with exposed stone accents.

On the entry level is an open-plan room with sitting and dining areas and a corner kitchen. The sitting area includes a comfortable upholstered loveseat and two easy chairs grouped around a coffee table in front of the stone fireplace. On the opposite end is the well-designed and equipped galley-style kitchen with oak cabinets, white counters and all appliances. Adjacent is the dining area with pine table and chairs. An antique armoire, wood chest and Asian-style rugs complement this comfortable room.

The cottage includes 2 bedrooms, each with bathroom. One is upstairs from the main living level, and the other is downstairs. They are pleasantly decorated with pastel walls, bedcovers and curtains. A stone vaulted wall is a striking addition to the downstairs bedroom.

A great home base in the heart of a Perigourdine village.
