This old stone house has its origins in the Middle Ages with vestiges of old sculpted stone window frames attesting to its venerable age. It is set just three kilometers from les Eyzies, celebrated for its Museum of Prehistory and recognized as a preeminent center for prehistoric studies throughout Europe.

The house, built of honey-colored stone, sits in a natural garden with pretty lawn and many flowering plants and shrubs. Adjacent to the house is a stone terrace with canopied dining area. Adding to the charm of the grounds is an old stone tower with authentic lauze roof set away from the house. From the grounds and terrace, you'll enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Inside, the house has been lovingly renovated and features dark wood beamed ceilings, terra cotta tile floors and exposed stone walls throughout. Furnishings include a tasteful combination of modern and antique pieces. Entry is down a short flight of stairs to the spacious living room. Here a sea-green leather sofa and two easy chairs are grouped around a wood coffee table by the stone fireplace. A colorful carpet, built-in bookcases, antique chests, occasional tables and lamps make this a very inviting room.

A few more stairs lead down to the dining room with and wood dining table and chairs for 6 people. From the dining room a door opens to the fully-equipped kitchen with mint-green ceramic tile counters, oak cabinets along with all appliances and conveniences. There's plenty of space for preparing simple and more complex meals. French doors from the dining room and kitchen open to the terrace and grounds.

The property includes 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One with a double bed is located on the entry level with bathroom and separate toilet facilities on the hall. Stairs from the entry lead to two more bedrooms: one double-bedded with adjacent bathroom, and the other with twin beds built under the wood rafters. All of the bedrooms are nicely decorated with pretty curtains and bedcovers as well as pine chests and tables. The bathrooms have pastel ceramic tilework.

A house with great Perigourdine charm and with easy access to all the sights of the region.
