The stone-walled medieval village of Limeuil is classified as one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages. And it boasts an exceptional setting, at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. It’s a delight to wander the charming stone-paved streets. And it’s a scenic spot for river swimming or enjoying an afternoon aperitif at the riverside café.
The setting of our substantial stone house with stucco facade and gray shutters is just as exceptional as the village itself. In the front is a vine-covered stone terrace with wonderful river views. In back is a gorgeous park with large swimming pool, expansive lawn, tall trees, shrubs and flowers. It’s one of the most picturesque settings of all our properties in the region. Inside, the house is graciously furnished with many antique pieces and carpets. The courtyard entrance leads to a country kitchen with mosaic stone floor. It is fully equipped and includes a breakfast table for 8 people, which serves as extra preparation space. The kitchen opens to the formal dining room with old painted-tile floor, pale yellow walls, an antique wood table for 8 people and an antique china chest. From here, doors open to the living room with painted beamed ceiling, white walls and wood floors. This is a very inviting room with a sofa and several armchairs grouped around a coffee table. A deep red Asian rug, occasional tables, lamps, chests and an armoire are warm accents. From the living room, doors open to the river-view terrace in the front. There are a total of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all upstairs off a large landing. One is a larger master suite with queen bed and bathroom with tub. Another has twin beds. The other two bedrooms are interconnecting: one with a queen bed off of which is a single bedroom. The bedrooms are all nicely decorated with bedcovers and curtains. Also on this level is another full bathroom with shower. There are additional toilet facilities on the main living level. A village house with great atmosphere in a central location. |
