Dating from the 18th century, this spacious farmhouse - with stucco façade, red shutters and red tile roof - is set in 35 hectares of gardens and woodland. The grounds include a lovely salt-treated swimming pool set in a natural garden with grass, shrubs, flowering plants and a variety of tall shade trees. Adjacent to the house and just above the pool is a terrace with canopied dining area and stone dining table. From the terrace and the pool, you'll enjoy beautiful views over the neighboring fields and woods.
The property is comprised of a main house sleeping 8 people and a cottage for 4. Both have retained traditional features including wood beamed ceilings and ceramic tile floors. The décor is largely casual contemporary furnishings with antique accents. The main house is L-shaped. On one end is a large open-plan living-dining room. The sitting area has several sofas and chairs grouped around a large coffee table in front of an old stone fireplace. Off the sitting area is a small study-office. The dining area is at the other end of the room with a heavy wood table seating 12 people and French doors opening to the terraces. Off the dining area is the well-equipped kitchen which also has doors leading to the patio and pool. The main house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Past the kitchen, along a corridor are 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. On the far end of the house with access from the courtyard is a tower with a 4th bedroom suite with bathroom and dressing space on the ground level and bedroom upstairs. All of the bedrooms have twin beds, white bedcovers, wood chests or armoires. The bathrooms all have quality fixtures and ceramics. Across the courtyard is the cottage with its own sitting-dining area and kitchen corner. There are also 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom with separate tub and shower. Furnishings are in the same style and standard as the main house. A spacious home with great country character, perfect for large groups of friends and family. *Note: in high season, the rental rate is for 12 people. In mid season, the main house can be rented alone at a reduced rate for parties of no more than 8 people. |
