Located in the Perigourdine countryside, this old stone property boasts grounds of over 120 acres and a stunning park with tall trees, extensive lawns and an array of flowering shrubs and plants. There are several stone terraces, a lovely swimming pool and a hard-surface tennis court. It's a wonderful setting for large groups of family or friends to enjoy each other's company with plenty of room for a variety of activities.
The property consists of a main house for 8 people and a cottage for 4. Both have been well renovated and retain the best of traditional architectural features including wood beamed ceilings, honey-colored exposed stone walls and stone and wood floors. Colorful fabrics and an array of antique tables and chests contribute to its character and charm. In the main house, there is a spacious living room with exposed wall beams opening to the formal dining room. In the sitting room are pale yellow upholstered sofas and easy chairs grouped by a wood coffee table near the fireplace. Adjacent is the dining room with large wood table and chairs for 8 people. Several antique chests, occasional tables and lamps add to the tremendous atmosphere of these adjoining rooms. Off the dining room is the kitchen with blue and yellow painted tile walls, antiqued blue cabinets, a tile-topped breakfast table and all appliances. Doors from the living room, dining room and kitchen open to the terraces, pool and the park. Stairs from the living room lead to 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One is a master suite with queen bed and full bathroom with tub, sink and toilet. Also on this level are three smaller bedrooms: one with double bed and two with twins. On the hall is a full bathroom with shower. The bedrooms are decorated with pretty bedcovers and antique wood pieces. Set behind the main house is an old stone cottage, fully renovated. On the entry level is a light and airy open-plan room with beamed ceiling and white walls. In the corner is a small sitting area and adjacent, a dining area with glass-topped table. A counter separates the kitchenette with small refrigerator, four-burner cooktop and counter-top oven. On the ground level are two bedrooms and a full bathroom with shower. Upstairs is a queen-bedded suite with its own full bathroom sporting beautiful turquoise tile work. The cottage has its own small terrace with outdoor dining furniture. A property with tremendous atmosphere and Perigourdine style. Note: in high season, the property is rented in its entirety for 12 people. In mid season, the main house can be rented alone for up to 8 people. Under these circumstances, the cottage is closed. |
